Peace Intention Experiment

14 September 2008 2 Comments

Can focused human intention be the true key to creating peace in the world?

For a long time, peace has dodged humanity as a goal. How to create peace? Through talks? Agreements? Exchange programs? Or even through… war?

The conventional wisdom is that where there is a will, there is a way. And people have long suspected that parties involved in peace negotiation or attempts are focused more on victory and supremacy than actual peace.

It’s all about Intent. We’ve learned that much from viral success program The Secret.

But how to channel that intent to achieve one of the most elusive goals: peace? And does it really work?

This September, from the 14th till the 21st, a team of scientists has enrolled intentional volunteers from around through their computers to intentionally create peace in a chosen conflict-ridden location. The volunteers will rally around their computers at a synchronized time across the globe, study their chosen target location, and then together make a certain intent with controllable variables. The focused intent will be scientifically controllable, such as: “Lower the robbery rate from 2600 a year to 300.” (My example! Try zero!)

The location, which will be revealed once the experiment begins in order to control the variables as finely as possible, has been selected for its recorded crime & conflict rates as well as relatively less media coverage.

The Peace Intention Experiment is a special experiment by scientist Lynne McTaggart’s team that carries out regular intention experiments usually focused on healing the ill.

I’m joining it this evening, my time. I intend that it will work, and I will then use the same technique for my community’s welfare!
